CloudBerry Explorer supports IAM Actions for CloudFront
As always we are trying to stay on top of the new functionality offered by Amazon S3 to offer the most compelling Amazon S3, CloudFront and IAM client on Windows platform.
Since its release IAM Manager has been one of the most popular components of CloudBerry Explorer. To find out about IAM Manager functional overview, check out here. To learn now to create users and assign policies check out here.
Amazon CloudFront now integrates with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) so that you can specify which CloudFront actions a user or a group of users in your AWS Account can perform. You control user access to CloudFront by creating policies that describe user or group permissions.
With the release 2.7.2 we extended IAM Policy Designer to the Actions related to Amazon CloudFront.

How to download files from Private Content Distributions with CloudBerry Explorer
As always we are adding features that our customers are requesting. In this release we are introducing an option to download data using the Private Content feature. This feature is useful if you want to distribute data securely across geographically distributed offices and can significantly increase the download performance.
SCENARIO #1 – You are a trusted signer
1. In CloudBerry Explorer choose a bucket with a CloudFront distribution
2. Right click on the bucket, choose CloudFront | CloudFront Download Options
3. On the CloudFront Downloads tab choose the “Download content from CloudFront Distribution” option
4. Select the distribution
Note: if you have multiple distributions, choose the one you want to use.
5. Select “Policy signing required” option. You have to specify your private key pair; it is required to generate signed URLs to access private CloudFront content for downloading it from the Amazon S3 storage.
Note: We automatically detect Key pair ID from the Private key file name.
6. Click OK to finish the configuration.
Now you are can download files from the selected distribution to local computer.
Note: you can download files from Public Distribution in a similar manner. You just don’t have to specify a Policy
SCENARIO #2 – Another account is a trusted signer
1. In CloudBerry Explorer add a bucket you want to download from as an External Bucket
2. Right click on the external bucket, choose Properties
3. In Properties dialog choose CloudFront Downloads tab
4. Choose the “Download content from CloudFront Distribution” option
5. Type into Select Distribution the distribution name you are going to use for downloads
6. Select “Policy signing required” option. You have to specify the account’s private key pair; it is required to generate signed URLs to access private CloudFront content for downloading it from the Amazon S3 storage.
Note: We automatically detect Key pair ID from the Private key file name.
7. Click OK to finish the configuration.
Now you are able to download files from external bucket to local computer and they will be downloaded from the distribution.
