I am new to cloud storage.

I run a few web sites and am trying to understand the difference between Google Docs storage and Google Storage for Developers, if those are the correct terms.

Does Google Docs simply allow people to store files, while Google Storage allows links to them to be embedded in web pages?

That is my main interest, storing lots of files and hyperlinking to them from my web site.

Google Docs appears much chaper than Google Storage and I am curious about the reason.

Thank you.

Hey Erich,

Thank you for your comment. You are right, Google Docs storage is much cheaper. I don't really know the reason for it. Perhaps it is run by another group within Google.
Actually, I am not that familiar with Google Docs storage to answer your questions about it. But Google storage for sure allows you to store and link images on your website. While Google Docs storage is something linked to your Google Apps account, Google Storage for developers is a multi-purpose storage with the API that you can integrate with your applications

Thanks
Andy

Thanks, maybe Amazon will come out with a Reduced Functionality and Redundancy plan.

As an individual I never understood the appeal of cloud computing but this makes some sense for business applications.
